Lincoln Learning Center
Giving Children a Strong Start
At Desert Mission, we believe that all children deserve access to a high-quality learning environment where they can begin to develop critical thinking, language and literacy skills, along with a strong sense of self-esteem. Lincoln Learning Center gives children a solid groundwork for academic success by providing learning opportunities for children from 6 weeks to 12 years of age. Armed with this strong foundation, they’re ready to begin their education confident in their abilities and potential to succeed.
Recognized for Our Quality
A licensed, accredited child care and early education program, Lincoln Learning Center is one of the few schools in Arizona to meet the nation’s highest standards for child development and school readiness.
In addition, Lincoln Learning Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and has been recognized as a five-star First Things First Quality Site. This is due to the center’s commitment to health and safety for children, including a full-time registered nurse on site, a part-time child care health consultant and a locked, password-protected, inner security door that separates the front office from the rest of the center.
A Curriculum for School-ready Kids
Lincoln Learning Center uses Creative Curriculum, a research-based program with age-appropriate activities that support early childhood standards developed by the Arizona Department of Education. Our major offerings include:
- Infant and toddler programs.
- Preschool and pre-kindergarten classrooms.
- Before- and after-school care.
- Intergenerational activities with seniors at Adult Day Health Care.
- Healthy meals and snacks through the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
- Opportunities for children with special needs to attend, pending an evaluation and consultation with parents.
- Scholarship and tuition assistance available on a limited basis.
Ongoing Developmental Assessments
Preschool is a critical time to evaluate children to ensure they have the basic skills and knowledge they need to be successful learners. Lincoln Learning Center screens enrolled children from ages 3 to 5 to identify their strengths and potential developmental delays. The screenings, valued at $170, are provided at no cost to parents and are administered by staff of the Arizona Literacy and Learning Center.
