Desert Mission Children’s Dental Clinic
Providing Dental Care to Underserved Youth
According to a 2012 Community Needs Assessment of north Phoenix, 5,000 children in north Phoenix do not have access to dental care. At Desert Mission, we are working to change this statistic through the Children’s Dental Clinic. Part of the Desert Mission Community Health Center, the Children’s Dental Clinic provides regular and emergency dental care needs for children ages 2 to 21 to help them:
- Maintain healthy dental hygiene.
- Establish a bi-annual dental routine.
- Address urgent dental needs, as indicated.
In addition, clinic staff partners with local public elementary schools in the community to complete on-site dental screenings. Staff also provide education for children and parents to demonstrate the important link between dental health and overall wellness.
